NYT: Manual Texting Programs 'translate to dollars and votes'
Manual Texting has become a highly effective GOTV and fundraising instrument that provides campaigns the ability to form personalized connections with voters in real-time according to a recent article from the New York Times.
The successful upset campaigns of Senator Doug Jones in Alabama and Democratic nominee for Congress Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York recognize Manual Texting as a driving force in gathering support and getting voters to the polls. In fact, both campaigns sent out more than a million texts in the weeks leading up to Election Day.
According to one Senator Jones volunteer, Manual Texting is “the best tool…for getting out the vote.” We agree.
The Times reports that organizations like Planned Parenthood and the Sierra Club say that Manual Texting results in 36% more responses than emails.
The Times also reports that, according to studies done by the Democratic National Committee, voters who received Manual Text messages in addition to traditional mailers were 8% more likely to donate to a campaign than voters who only received traditional mailers.
